Cavanna Residence

The Brief

A complete renovation of a three-story Milanese residence for a family who wanted a private city sanctuary — refined, atmospheric, and built for daily life. The brief asked for spaces that felt cinematic but liveable, with a clear separation between the public and private floors.

Our Approach

We worked in a tightly disciplined palette: dark stained timber, honed travertine, brushed brass, and warm oak. Hidden lighting beneath every floating element — the staircase, the floating media console, the bar — creates a sense of weightlessness throughout. Floor-to-ceiling glass opens the principal rooms to the courtyard trees.

The Outcome

The result is a sequence of deeply atmospheric rooms — an entrance hall that arrives like a hotel lobby, a living room oriented to the trees, a principal bedroom that disappears into the dark. The owners' Phantom in the courtyard is the only thing more refined than the architecture itself.
