The Brief
A young family of four wanted to reimagine a generous pre-war Zurich apartment as a calm, light-filled home — comfortable enough for daily life with children, refined enough to host guests. The existing apartment had character but felt closed off and dark.
Our Approach
We opened the public floor into a single long volume from the entry through the living room and dining area. The palette is warm: cream plaster walls, light oak paneling, travertine surfaces, soft cream-beige upholstery. Sage and soft terracotta accents bring life. Every room oriented to the Zurich rooftops view through Crittall-style windows.
The Outcome
A bright, family-scaled apartment where modular sofas anchor the living room and the kitchen island doubles as a homework table. The library nook with paired reading chairs has become the family's quiet favorite. Beautifully ordinary, in the best way.

"Our children actually use every room — including the library. That's the highest compliment I can give the design."
