Hotel Aevum

The Brief

The owners commissioned a complete renovation of a clifftop residence outside Lisbon into a small luxury boutique hotel. The site is exceptional — a private plot above the Atlantic with views to the horizon — and the brief was to honor the landscape without overwhelming it.

Our Approach

We pared the architecture back to a single long horizontal volume in warm cream stucco, with floor-to-ceiling glass facing the ocean and a private terrace for every suite. The signature is the infinity pool, oriented so the water seems to merge with the horizon. Travertine, oak, cream linen, and brushed brass throughout.

The Outcome

A hotel that has become a destination in its own right — the kind of place people return to year after year. Guests linger by the infinity pool from afternoon into evening, the lobby fireplace burns most nights, and the outdoor dining terrace fills with the scent of olive branch and grilled bread.
